You can create a country kitchen fairly easily by focusing on the following features:
Counters
There are a few different ideas for counters. Counter surfaces can use stone-style solid surfaces for an easy to clean, chip-resistant alternative to stone, choosing cupboard doors in a cottage style that adds to the ambience. Open shelves beneath the counters also work well. These can be enhanced with curtains instead of doors, using floral, gingham or other prints that help to create the right look.
Islands
Counter islands work well in this type of kitchen, too. You can adapt yours to include seating, with colours that match overhead storage. Add in open shelves to store pots, pans and pretty crockery or baskets. Overhead racks can be hung, displaying copper pots or utensils for added effect. Add rattan stools or cottage style wooden stools in bright colours to finish off the look and create a homey atmosphere.

Colours
When choosing your laminates and solid surfaces, it is always a good idea to think carefully about the colours you use. White may seem like a simple choice that makes the room look bigger, but this colour can lose a lot of the ambience offered by this type of kitchen. Cream and warm terracotta tones always work well, but bright colours can also be effective. You could add a focus wall using cladding – behind a stove, for example, or in the dining part of the kitchen or near the sink.
